First, our wish for you

We hope you'll spend quality time in each shop you visit, take your time getting to know these hard-working small business owners, show your support, and enjoy an inspiring, creative journey.

Now, here's how it works

To join the Heartland Yarn Adventure, you'll need one thing: a $5 passport.

You'll be able to buy yours from any participating shop starting in June. (You'll also get a commemorative enamel pin this year!)
The passport will list all the participating shops along with their addresses, phone numbers, and hours during the event.
Each participating yarn shop will stamp your passport when you visit - no purchase necessary.
You'll tear out and leave your stamped passport page at the last shop you visit. That shop will send it to our committee and we'll use those to draw prize winners a few days later.
Every stamp in your passport gives you another entry into the prize drawing.

What you can expect at the shops

We encourage each shop to express themselves in a way that's right for their business. This means they'll all offer a unique experience for you - this is part of the adventure!

Pro tip: watch the Heartland Yarn Adventure Facebook and Instagram channels (as well as your favorite shops' newsletters, websites, and social media) as we get closer to the event to see what you'll find at each stop.

Here are some things you may find along the way:

Special deals: this could be extra savings on the shop's clearance stash, a buy-one-get-one deal, or something else.
Free gifts: a few examples we saw last year were free patterns, hand-made stitch markers, mini-scissors, and mini-skeins of yarn. These may have purchase requirements - again, it's up to each individual shop to decide how this will work.
Door prizes: many shops will have their own prize drawings for things like project kits, needle sets, or gift cards.
Games: some shops might even have a fun little game for you to play and maybe even win a prize!
